- Always place the welfare of your dog above all else.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that reflects positively on the sport and yourself.
- Appreciate, encourage and support all who associate with and participate in the sports by fostering an environment where respect, equity, inclusion, and courtesy are foundational.
- Contribute to a positive atmosphere by avoiding negative gossip, disparagement, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Actively support the education and mentorship of newcomers, helping them learn the rules, values, and traditions of the sport in a respectful way.
- Recognize that you are role models in the sport, and strive to lead by example through humility, kindness, and ethical conduct.
- Treat fellow exhibitors, judges, officials, volunteers, spectators, and staff with dignity and respect, regardless of experience, background, or differences in opinion.
- Remain committed to fair play, honesty, courtesy, and competition, approaching both winning and losing with grace.
- Understand that strong competition and civility can—and should—coexist. You appreciate the quality of your competitors, and the effort put forth by others.
- Uphold your responsibilities to the sport and refuse to let personal gain or self-interest influence your decisions or behavior.
Having a key to the building is a privilege and carries with it a great responsibility. Below are the rules for all key-holding members
- If you are training independently in the building, and not at an event, class or drill:
- sign in (sign in sheet is on the table just inside the door of the training room)
- a maximum of four people may train in the training room at one time.
- a key-holding member may bring only one non-key-holding member to train in the building
- if another member arrives to train, you may share the room if everyone is agreeable.
- if you do not wish to share the room, everyone training must complete their session and vacate the room within 20 minutes.
- if you are waiting for use of the room, do not interfere with the member(s) practicing.
- Do not loan keys to other members
- If the building is empty when you arrive, you must report any unlocked or unlatched door to a board member.
- Put away any equipment you used.
- Turn off all lights.
- You must ensure that all exterior doors are CLOSED, LATCHED, and LOCKED when you are the last one out: PULL ON THE DOOR HANDLE after you exit.
- Please report any issues with the building or agility yard to the appropriate training director.
- You must surrender the room for our cleaning lady, and for any scheduled events, classes or drills
I’m sure you all are aware of the spread of respiratory illnesses in the dog community. Dogs may exhibit sneezing, nasal discharge, difficulty breathing, lethargy (low energy), a fever, and possibly vomiting. The illness can progress very quickly, and you should seek immediate care if you see any of these signs. A cough may start out sounding like kennel cough, but can lead to a severe, hemorrhagic pneumonia, which can be deadly.
- It is very important that if your dog isn’t feeling well, DO NOT BRING THEM TO SDOC. And do not bring any other dogs from the household to SDOC.
- Do not use communal water bowls.
- No dog to dog interactions.
- Do not share toys or leashes.
- Feel free to bring your own crate.
- If you use SDOC crates, bring your own mat, and spray or wipe down the crate with disinfectant before and after use.
- Report an infected dog immediately to the president (president@sdocnm.org)
- You must self-quarantine all dogs in the household for two-weeks after symptoms have ceased.
If you miss classes that you are enrolled in because of a sick dog, please let the head instructor know. SDOC will refund the class fee if you have attended just two class. If you’ve attended more than two class, you’ll receive a prorated refund.

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our site. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.
HOT WEATHER OUTDOOR AGILITY CLASS POLICY
If weather.com forecasts 92° or above for Zip Code 87109, a class will be cancelled. For temperature below that, it is still vital to work and crate primarily in the shade. Both 2- and 4- leggeds need to stay hydrated, with frequent breaks. It is the instructors’ responsibility to notify students of this policy.
*Individual instructors may alter that policy based on the needs of a specific class. In that case, the instructor will inform their students of any schedule change.
